With a DB9 Connector, the pins have a different assignment to that of a DB25 Connector, but the logic of connecting TD and RD still applies. Accordingly, if both ends of the cable used a DB25 connector, pin 2(TD) would be connected to Pin 3(RD) at the other end. With a DB25 Connector, pin 2 is TD and pin 3 RD. That is, the Transmit pin at one end has to be connected to the Receive pin at the other end. ![]() The Transmit and Receive lines (TD and RD respectively) have to be connected one to the other. It follows that if one device is Transmitting, then the other device needs to Receive. ![]()
